Description, symptoms, and diagnostic methods for post-concussion syndrome.
Acupuncture is the insertion of fine needles into the body at specific points to release any blockages and allow your body’s electromagnetic energy to flow freely.
Acupuncture is the insertion of fine needles into the body at specific points to release any blockages and allow your body’s electromagnetic energy to flow freely. Acupuncture treatments address imbalances that arise from physical and emotional stress, poor nutrition, infection or injury. Acupuncture works by reducing inflammation, improving circulation, decreasing pain, releasing endorphins, increasing tissue healing, and balancing hormones.
Our approach to acupuncture integrates Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) philosophy with a modern, scientific understanding of anatomy, physiology and pathology, to relieve your pain and improve your performance. We work closely with each patient, tailoring a program to your needs with patient-centred care.
If your muscle is relaxed, you will likely not feel the acupuncture needle penetrate your skin. But, if your muscle is tense or tight, you will likely feel a tense, shortening of the muscles, and a desensitization of pain that arises from ‘neuropathy’.
During our initial assessment, our Registered Acupuncturists will learn about your existing medical conditions, as well as your health concerns and goals. Then, we will begin treatment by inserting thin, sterile needles along the meridian lines of your body. These needles will remain inserted for up to 30 minutes, releasing any blockages and allowing energy to flow.
